Erica and James’ outdoor wedding at the base of Sinks Canyon celebrated color, texture, and the rugged beauty of Wyoming’s mountains. It was alive with color, movement, and personal touches that reflected the couple’s love for the mountain landscape. Bold florals and joyful colors brought the outdoor setting at the Alpine Science Institute to life.
The Vision
Erica and James wanted a wedding that felt bright, playful, and deeply connected to the mountains. They chose lively colors and rich textures inspired by mountain surroundings. The color palette featured yellows, pinks, purples, oranges, and reds that reflected the beauty of summer wildflowers. Every detail highlighted both the couple’s love of the outdoors and the natural beauty of Lander.

The Floral Story
Erica’s bridal bouquet was inspired by summery mountain meadows. The bride and bridesmaid’s bouquets were undeniably unique, filled with peony, ranunculus, goldenrod, delphinium, larkspur, and airy grasses. The bouquet’s loose shapes captured the feeling of freshly gathered wildflowers and featured one of Erica’s favorite flowers – purple lupine. Creating colorful boutonnières for James and his groomsmen was particularly fun because each one included a unique hue of ranunculus.
The ceremony aisle was lined with pops of color-blocked blooms that guided guests’ eyes toward the couple, framed by large, airy ground meadow arrangements. Flowing grasses and organic shapes kept the design natural, harmonizing perfectly with the surroundings in Sinks Canyon.
For the reception, the ceremony florals were repurposed as bold, textural pieces in front of the head table and dance floor. Smaller bottle vases filled with whimsical flowers echoed the bright, layered palette. This created a cohesive experience from ceremony to celebration.

In the Details
A standout element of the reception was the lush greenery and chandelier installation over the dance floor. It formed a natural canopy, inviting guests to linger, dance, and celebrate beneath it. Overall, the wildflower-inspired color palette brought vibrant color and energy to the wedding, each detail contributed to a celebration that felt joyful, intimate, and rooted in the heart of Wyoming’s mountain landscape.
